Very sorry for the lack of posts here, as wedding season is certainly upon us. To satiate your desire to see something new here, please enjoy some photos from the last few months. Some are trains, some aren’t.

			capwell posted a photo:	New Jersey Transit rosters two F40s, both of which were a part of the rather amazing 40th anniversary trip this fall. Here, the train pauses at Newark Penn Station, and I was able to sneak off  to get a few photos with my tiny Rollei 35.			capwell posted a photo:	Some of the old cars still remaining on the Métro ply their trade on the blue line, which was a point of emphasis for me on a summer visit to my favorite city. Here, a departing train exits the beautifully-appointed station at Fabre, and descends into darkness. We had some amazingly sunny days to capture this railroad, and millions of ripe blueberries to sustain us while we waited between trains.			capwell posted a photo:	With the hillside from the previous shot visible to the left of the shadowed-in viaduct, this angle of a northbound was attained from the high-tension wire right-of-way. This was  QNSL's only freight move of the day, featuring its only SD40-2s leading the way. Evening shadows were quickly reclaiming the river valley when this train finally, thankfully, arrived!			capwell posted a photo:	Just getting around to uploading some of the shots from the epic July trip to Quebec with Mathieu and Nick, let's start off with the coolest angle attainable on the south end of the QNSL. This wasn't the worst hike, but the blackflies make any hike a terrible one. Nets, bug spray, and long sleeves were the order of the day, every day. This is an amazing railroad, pulling some of the longest freight trains on the continent, and it was a joy to spend so much of our trip devoting time to cover it.			capwell posted a photo:	I spend a ton of time working private cars in and our of Sunnyside Yard. The yard itself is amazing to me, tracks and trains and catenary and workers everywhere, surrounded on all sides by the hustle and bustle of Queens. But inside SSY, one of my favorite small details is the massive amount of cats that call the yard home. Rats, mice, pigeons, and full catfood bowls from the high speed shop all conspire to keep the feline population fed, and they pretty much make themselves at home. This summer, I caught this fella just lounging in the ballast as I walked from one end of the yard to the other.			capwell posted a photo:	Rainy night, returning to the yard after a day of PV trips.			capwell posted a photo:	Disassembled 3985 bits, and a slightly-less-disassembled UP 5511, Silvis IL Feb 2023.			capwell posted a photo:	I deadheaded the finest 10-6 in the land, Pacific Home, from Albuquerque to NYP over the past few days. While in Chicago two nights ago, the car was parked right next to a steam pipe, which gave just the right amount of vintage ambience to the normal parked-in-Chicago photos I usually take of cars I'm in charge of.			capwell posted a photo:	I handle a lot of the publicity/social/photos for the RRHMA's Silvis operation. Last weekend, we opened the shop up to the public as the final pieces of UP's big donation made their way to us from Cheyenne. I got plenty of nice event shots, but sometimes the group shot tells the biggest story- it takes this many people (and more folks who aren't pictured here!) to get a project like this across the finish line. This was the culmination of a truly awesome weekend, and the future is incredibly bright for this group as we begin the actual work of restoring these pieces of history. more...
